GCEL Anaerobic Digestion

Cobalt Energy was engaged as Principal Contractor and Project Manager for the delivery of the 7.2 MW Glentham Green Energy anaerobic digestion facility in Lincolnshire. Our role included managing the entire construction phase, including programme delivery, health and safety, and design support.

Leveraging our deep understanding of AD technology and process integration, we coordinated multiple specialist packages and stakeholders across the civil, mechanical, and electrical interfaces. Cobalt ensured CDM compliance was maintained throughout the construction phase, applying robust safety and design review processes to maintain project quality and mitigate risk.

The plant, developed for VTTI, was successfully delivered over a 18-month period, contributing significant renewable baseload capacity to the UK’s energy mix.
